Whispers of Love en la Mañana | A poem by Touha Khan

 

Today, the sun is shining bright,  
Yet I know your heart holds the weight of last night.  
I’ve been restless, my thoughts filled with you,  
Wondering if my silence made your skies less blue.

Each hour without you felt so strange,  
Like something precious just slipped out of range.  
Sunday passed, and I let it go by,  
But in my heart, I still hear your sigh.  

I couldn’t sleep, not even for a while,  
Thinking of how I missed that smile.  
You must’ve checked your phone, eyes hoping to see,  
A message, a word, even a thought from me.  

If only you knew how much I regret,  
Every moment without your voice, without your breath.  
I would’ve turned back time, stopped the world in its way,  
I just want to tell you what I didn’t say.  

But today, let’s make it something new,  
Because my mind is filled with nothing but you.  
Let’s bring back the light to where it should be,  
With that smile that means the world to me.
