In the Ashes of Love A Journey Through Fire and Rebirth | A Poem by Touha Khan |
If love does not burn through the soul,
What spark does it hold to make us whole?
What spark does it hold to make us whole?
True love ignites, consumes, and sears,
It feeds on dreams and silences fears.
It breaks us down, remakes us new,
It bleeds us raw, yet pulls us through.
It bleeds us raw, yet pulls us through.
It’s not a gentle, fleeting breeze,
But a storm that bends the strongest trees.
It lifts us high, then lets us fall,
To find ourselves in its sacred thrall.
But a storm that bends the strongest trees.
It lifts us high, then lets us fall,
To find ourselves in its sacred thrall.
If it does not shatter all we knew,
If it does not call us to start anew,
If it leaves no scars, no tales to hold,
Then love is nothing but ashes cold.
If it does not call us to start anew,
If it leaves no scars, no tales to hold,
Then love is nothing but ashes cold.
Let love destroy; let it unmake,
Let it force us to bend until we break.
For only in ruin can beauty reside,
Only in ashes does true love abide.
For only in ruin can beauty reside,
Only in ashes does true love abide.

Without this fiery intensity, love remains hollow and incomplete.
